Why We’re Partnering with Ocean Mind:

Arlan Davine • October 12, 2026

Oon Victoria’s Surf Coast, the ocean is an integral part of everyday life. For many in Torquay, Geelong, and surrounding coastal communities, being in the water is where they reset, find balance, and recharge. But surfing and the ocean can also be a powerful vehicle for genuine healing, confidence, and community connection.

That is why I am thrilled to announce that Elevate Financial Planning has officially partnered with Ocean Mind, a phenomenal local charity making a life-changing difference for young people across our region.

Who is Ocean Mind?

Ocean Mind is a Surf Coast-based charity providing therapeutic surf programs for young people aged 8 to 18 who are navigating mental health challenges, social isolation, and disabilities.

Through evidence-based surf therapy and one-on-one mentorship, Ocean Mind creates a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment. By pairing young people with trained volunteer mentors and taking them into the surf, they help participants build resilience, develop crucial life skills, form lasting friendships, and rediscover their self-belief.

Their core values—Empowerment, Sustainability, Connection, and Stoke—resonate deeply with everything we value at Elevate.

Our Commitment: Giving Back With Every New Plan

At Elevate Financial Planning, we believe true financial advice should be about more than just numbers—it’s about helping people live healthier, happier, and more purposeful lives.

We also believe that local businesses have a responsibility to actively support the communities that support them.

As part of this partnership, we have committed to the following pledge:

For every new client who undertakes a personal financial advice plan with Elevate Financial Planning, we will donate $50 directly to Ocean Mind.

This means that when you partner with Elevate to secure your financial future—whether that is navigating retirement, optimising your super, or protecting your family—you are also directly funding surf therapy sessions and mentorship for young people right here on the Surf Coast.

Financial Wellbeing and Mental Wellbeing Go Hand-in-Hand

Financial stress is one of the leading contributors to anxiety and strain in Australian families. Just as we work alongside our clients to remove financial stress and build clarity for the future, Ocean Mind works on the frontline to provide young people with the emotional tools and support network they need to thrive.

By connecting these two missions, every new advice journey at Elevate creates a positive ripple effect throughout our wider community.

How You Can Get Involved

Whether you are an existing client, a local resident, or someone looking to take control of your financial roadmap, there are plenty of ways to support this initiative:

  • Donate Directly: You can make a direct contribution to support surf therapy programs for local youth via the Ocean Mind donation page.
  • Explore Ocean Mind’s Programs: Learn more about their life-changing surf therapy programs or consider becoming a volunteer mentor at oceanmind.org.au.
  • Start Your Financial Journey: If you or someone you know has been thinking about putting a comprehensive financial plan in place, reach out for an obligation-free chat. Every new personal advice engagement contributes directly to Ocean Mind.
  • Spread the Word: Share this post with friends, family, or colleagues who care about youth mental health on the Surf Coast.

We are incredibly proud to support the entire team at Ocean Mind, and we look forward to sharing regular updates on the impact our community achieves together.
